FULLERTON, Calif. (Sept. 27, 2007) - Ecotreadsetters.com, an environmentally-focused social networking site now features reports from four Southern California surfers who are driving 40,000 miles from Newport Beach to Tierra del Fuego, Chile to share sustainable building techniques with local communities.

Orange County's Eric Paine, Bill Boyd, Sean Robbins and Kevin Broderick will carry out this mission, which they have dubbed "Feral Green." The four recent UCLA grads in their mid-20s quit their comfortable routines, temporarily left their girlfriends and embarked on a road trip through North and South America, fueled by bio diesel.

Paine, Boyd, Robbins and Broderick, who have all previously worked on green initiatives in a professional or academic capacity, are chronicling their expedition to the tip of Chile using www.ecotreadsetters.com, a site supported by Yokohama Tire Corporation (YTC). Yokohama is supplying the adventurers with Geolandar M/T+ tires, designed for all-purpose driving across asphalt, riverbeds or rocky terrain. The Ecotreadsetters.com link for Feral Green is http://www.ecotreadsetters.com/Feral_Green.

In a statement released before their departure, the travelers talked about the purpose of the Feral Green expedition, which got underway August 31, 2007: "This trip is not just about four young men who need to jump into the unknown. It's about helping others as well. We plan to contribute to local communities by teaching environmentally friendly concepts from transportation to construction to agriculture." The young men are currently in the town of Nexpa in Mexico, and their Ford F350 running on vegetable oil has performed well.

Ecotreadsetters.com supplies members a platform for making positive changes to the planet as well as socializing. In addition, musicians are featured on the site, giving insights to what "being green" means to them. The Ecotreadsetters.com network rewards members for getting involved through contest prizes including an eco trip to Costa Rica and gift certificates to Patagonia and iTunes.
