Yokohama Tire Corporation’s iPad App Wins Another Award

August 11, 2011

FULLERTON, CA (Aug. 10, 2011) – The Yokohama Tire Explorer iPad app has earned an honorable mention award in the Apps-Business category in the 41st annual Creativity International Awards competition. Yokohama’s app also won a Silver ADDY® Award in the Mobile Marketing category at the Los Angeles area chapter of the American Advertising Federation’s in March.

“To have the app honored again – especially by the Creativity International Awards – is an amazing achievement,” said Alan Holtschneider, Yokohama manager, advertising, promotions & events. “We competed and bested projects with much larger budgets, from agencies/clients with greater international exposure. We were also recognized in one of the most innovative and competitive categories: Apps-Business (http://www.creativityawards.com/index.php?pr=41A_Apps_Business).”

The Yokohama Tire Explorer app was designed by Yokohama’s ad agency Kovel/Fuller and is free to consumers on iTunes. It features videos and information on the technology behind Yokohama’s consumer tires. ADVAN®, GEOLANDAR®, AVID® ENVigor™, S.drive® and the orange oil-infused dB Super E-spec™ all have their respective sections for users to explore. There’s information on tire compounds, tread design and construction, along with a ‘Tireology” section and fun facts about tires.
