Yokohama Tire Corporation Teams Up with Warner Bros. Pictures to Bring Speed Racer's Mach 5 to the Streets of Long Beach, April 19
FULLERTON, Calif. (April 17, 2008) - Go Speed Racer! Go Yokohama Tire Corporation! That will be the rallying cry as Yokohama Tire announces plans to promote its relationship with Warner Bros. Pictures' upcoming live-action family film Speed Racer at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach (April 19) and Grand Prix of Utah (May 18). Yokohama's ADVAN(R) tires were named the official tire of the movie and Mach 5 race car earlier this year. The latest film by the Wachowski brothers and producer Joel Silver, creators of The Matrix trilogy, Speed Racer will open across North America in theatres and IMAX on May 9.

Yokohama Tire Corporation Named Official Tire at Sebring International Raceway and Road Atlanta
FULLERTON, Calif. (Mar. 12, 2008) - Yokohama Tire Corporation today announced that it will be the official tire for two renowned U.S. racetracks - Sebring International Raceway and Road Atlanta. The three-year agreements are designed to reinforce Yokohama's overall commitment to the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), where Yokohama currently supports Mazda's BK Motorsports P2 team and the Panoz Esperante of Team PTG in GT2.

Yokohama Tire Corporation Expands
Off-The-Road Tire Sizes at Mar. 11-15 CONEXPO
FULLERTON, Calif. (March 11, 2008) - Yokohama Tire Corporation is debuting four new sizes for its off-the-road (OTR) tire models at the 2008 CONEXPO-CON/AGG tradeshow (booth S-8729), a construction industry exposition held every three years in Las Vegas. The RT41(TM), launched in late 2007 with a 26.5R25 offering, is now available in 29.5R25 and 23.5R25 sizes. The RB31(TM), on the market since 1997 will also add two new sizes, 26.5R25 and 29.5R25, to the currently available 17.5R25, 20.5R25 and 23.5R25 lineup.

The tires, 103ZR(TM) and 501ZA(TM), are part of Yokohama Tire's eco-friendly, ultra-high-tech Z.environment(TM) line, which offers truck tires that last longer and are more fuel efficient.

Yokohama Plants 30,000 Trees at Hiratsuka Factory
FULLERTON, Calif. (Jan. 16, 2008) - During the next decade, Yokohama Rubber Company (YRC) will plant 500,000 trees, creating nearly 25 acres of new forest. The sites for tree planting will include the Hiratsuka factory community, as well as six other Japanese facilities and 11 overseas affiliates. In the United States, Yokohama Tire Corporation's (YTC) Salem, Va. facility will expand the existing forested area by almost a full acre by 2014.

Yokohama Tire to Adjust Prices
FULLERTON, Calif. (Nov. 30, 2007) - Due to the continued record increases in the cost of raw materials and energy, Yokohama Tire Corporation announced it will increase prices on its consumer tires up to seven percent; medium truck tires and light truck commercial tires up to four percent; and Off-The-Road (OTR) tires up to five percent, effective January 1, 2008. All three divisions will include in-line adjusTMents, which will be announced at a later date.

Ceremony for Onomichi Second Plant
FULLERTON, Calif. (Oct. 22, 2007) - The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., today announced that it held an opening ceremony for the second plant of its Onomichi Plant. The Onomichi Plant is located in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, and specialized in the manufacture of off-the-road (OTR) tires. Approximately 60 invitees, including construction machinery makers -- users in both Japan and overseas -- tire dealers and the Onomichi city government, attended the ceremony. In his greeting speech, Tooru Kobayashi, Director and Corporate Officer of Yokohama Rubber, announced that the company would further increase production capacity of Onomichi Plant by 2.2 times that in FY2007 to 2,500 tons a month in FY2012.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Oct. 30, 2007) - No trick, but certainly a treat: a free 2008 Volvo C30. That is what Yokohama tire dealers will vie for during a special blackjack tournament at Yokohama's SEMA Show booth (#40709) on Tues., Oct. 30, from 5 -7:00 p.m. Called "Beat the Odds," the single-hand elimination tourney offers big prizes to the winners, including a cool 2008 Volvo C30 (equipped with Yokohama S.drive tires) for first place, and $5,000 and $1,000 in casino chips for second and third place, respectively. The new, turbocharged Volvo has a T5 5-cylinder engine which kicks up 227 hp, good for a top speed of 149 mph. It's been fitted with aftermarket suspension, exhaust, wheels, audio and styling enhancements.
