GYMKHANA 2022: Vacation Shred

The Stakes Have Been Raised

After taking over the reins in 2020, Team Yokohama’s Travis Pastrana delivered one of the most mind-boggling Gymkhana videos to date. Now, Travis is back to reclaim the wheel in 2022 and you know he’s looking to up the ante once again, in a place where anything goes–Florida. With fighter jets, choppers, monster trucks, monster jumps, and a new vehicle, the stakes have never been higher.

And to give him some confidence among the chaos, Travis brought along the legendary ADVAN line-up of Yokohama performance tires.

GYMKHANA 2022

Throwin' it Back...

Gymkhana cars are notoriously wild, but you’ve never seen anything like this retro ride: Travis Pastrana’s 1983 Subaru GL Wagon aka The Family Huckster. Designed in collaboration with Subaru Motorsports USA and with the help of the masters at Vermont SportsCar, this carbon fiber wide-bodied wagon had a few upgrades to meet the demands of Pastrana’s diabolical plans for Gymkhana 2022.

...Huckin' it Forward

A few upgrades might be an understatement. The car's original 1983 radio might be the only stock piece left. The Family Huckster retains the boxy profile of the original, but under the hood lies a turbocharged 2.3-liter flat-4 producing a whopping 862 bhp which is sent to all four wheels through a 6-speed sequential gearbox. On the outside, active aerodynamic elements flap open for some extra downforce, then retract for added grip. A roof rack and movable wing that rises out of the roof add even more aerodynamic elements. It’s no surprise Travis has said, “The Family Huckster is without a doubt my all-time favorite vehicle to drive”.
