Yokohama Tire Drivers Gearing Up for 104th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb
More than 20 sponsored drivers will take on the mountain on ADVAN® tires as tiremaker returns as the exclusive tire supplier for the Pikes Peak GT4 Trophy by Yokohama
Yokohama Tire is taking on the mountain again with another strong mix of drivers at the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, June 21 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. All told, 20-plus Yokohama-sponsored drivers will be competing on ADVAN tires across multiple divisions during the 104th running of the iconic “Race to the Clouds.”
Yokohama also returns as the exclusive tire supplier for the Pikes Peak GT4 Trophy by Yokohama for the ninth consecutive year. This year’s GT4 division features entries from Porsche, BMW and Toyota – all are equipped with ADVAN A052® tires. Laura Hayes, who holds the Pikes Peak record for “Fastest Woman,” returns in a Toyota Supra GT4 EVO2.
“We’re excited to return with another exceptionally strong lineup for this year’s hill climb,” said Patricia Wall, Yokohama’s senior manager of motorsports. “After last year’s weather-shortened race, our Team Yokohama drivers are eager to return and compete on the full-length legendary mountain course.”
Yokohama has had tremendous success on the mountain in recent years. Robin Shute has led the tiremaker to two overall “King of the Mountain” titles on ADVAN tires. Shute returns this year in his self-designed 2026 Sendycar, competing in the Unlimited Division (Super Unlimited Class) on ADVAN A005 tires, featuring a special hill climb compound developed specifically by Yokohama for Pikes Peak. Wall said the all-new program was built with a singular focus: to secure Shute's fifth overall King of the Mountain title.
- Robb Holland will power his Kellymoss Racing Porsche GT4R on ADVAN A005 tires in the Time Attack 1 Division.
- Dai Yoshihara will also be in Time Attack 1, driving an Acura Integra Type-S on ADVAN A005 tires. Acura is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year.
- Cole Powelson, who won the Open Wheel division in 2024, will compete in the Unlimited Division (Production Based Class) in his 2025 Stryker Rogue Maverick on ADVAN A005 tires.
- Phillip McGilton, a rookie, will compete in a 2020 Campbell Enterprises Ultra4 car in the Exhibition Division.
- Danny Aitken returns to the mountain for the second consecutive year. He’ll pilot a 2001 Reynard Indy Car in the Unlimited Division (Super Unlimited Class) on ADVAN A005 tires.
- JT Taylor, in partnership with Warrior Built, will race in a 1967 Dodge Coronet R/T equipped with ADVAN A005 tires in the Pikes Peak Open Division. Taylor, who made history as the first Ultra4 competitor to run Pikes Peak, will also make an appearance at a special event at nearby Ft. Carson with Warrior Built and Yokohama on Wed. June 17, and sign autographs at Yokohama’s booth at Fan Fest, Fri., June 19 in downtown Colorado Springs.
Yokohama Tire is a corporate partner of Warrior Built, a non-profit focused on rehabilitating combat veterans and wounded service members through vocational and recreational therapy, such as building and racing off-road vehicles.
To celebrate the race weekend, Yokohama Tire will once again have an activation at the Downtown Colorado Springs Fan Fest party on Friday evening. The popular event will feature autograph sessions with Team Yokohama athletes, a display of high-performance race cars, exclusive giveaways and more.
For the second consecutive year, Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb will be broadcast in its entirety on June 21 via the RACER Network cable channel and the RACER+ streaming app.
